Vagcom is good, esp if you can hook it up before buying, which I didn't (out of state buy). She likes the car...no CEL, but I noticed that it got even worse than advertised mpg (Allroad 2.7T sucks MORE gas than a 4.2L 40V in an A8, with 60 less horsepower!!)and noticed sweet smell from exhaust (rich) even when warmed up. I put my Vagcom to it, mainly to reprogram her central locking module to open/close the windows from a distance. I found a code for an EGT sensor (exhaust gas temp...a turbo thing) saying it was shorted to ground...when this happens it goes into default mode, assuming that the exhaust gas (before turbo) is at it hottest...so it throws as much gasoline at it as it can burn, in an attempt to cool it down..assuming it needs it (rich = cool burn...lean = hot burn). Not only are they a pain to get to (esp drivers side), but a single sensor is about $300...a pair (recommended) is $455 at cheapest supplier I could find....and failing sensors do NOT trip the CEL...a loose gas cap will, but NOT those! That's just my 1st discovery...I'm sure there's more to come...I'll take a normally aspirated V8 (or V6) ANY day. Fun with turbos...and maintaining them

Yes...and I just have the freebie version VCDS-Lite and a cheap Chinese cable, but amazing what you can do (and read) with it.
