Both my past two cars, which both had black interiors, I've had 35% all the way around (cept for the windshield). I have had them since 2008, and never gotten a ticket for the tint. Even after getting pulled over for other things. Maybe I was just lucky? I'd be curious to see what 40% looks like as I always thought 50% was just too light.

It's on my wife's pearl white Sienna with beige interior and it looks great. I also have the same 40/40 on my Silver Acura with black interior and on that car, it looks much darker. On the Audi, I have 50/50 and that looks very subtle.
Only option that I saw with 3M Color Stable was 50, 35, 20 and 5. Nothing in-between.

Bummer.

Here in Texas the max allowed is 25% for front windows which I think is too dark for night driving safety-wise) so for my situation I would probably choose 35% when I'm ready to do this.

Have you decided which you're going to go with?

This is 40% ceramic tint (Johnson Windows InsulatIR) on my Silver Acura TSX with Ebony Black interior.

20 would definitely be too dark. I had friends who had 20 and got multiple tickets. there's a huge difference between 20 and 35.

Agree.

I think that the sweet spot for appearance/safety is 35-40%.
