Default Summer Tires are on !!

I had purchased the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/40/18 in the late fall of 2011. Was only able to put on maybe 200kms(100 miles) on them before snow fell Today I checked the weather report and looks good now on so I was able to take the winters off and slap these babys on. I run a automotive shop and had lots of different tires on my other VW's and Audi's. This is my first 4.2 and I am going to put these tires to the test and give my review later. Here are some pics..

Too early for me yet. March is the snowiest month in Colorado and we set a record in February for the most snow ever for the front range. Also The largest snow fall ever occurred in 2003 around the 17ths of March 3-4 feet that shut down DIA and the city for two days.

Rule of thumb for the front range is no new snow on old snow. We are so arid here that only the day of the snow is it typically bad. By the next the roads are clear and three days later the ground is clear.

Only spots that will still show snow are where the plows stack it high in the parking lots or in the shade

I'm in the Midwest. Is it too early to put summers on? The weather has been between 50 and 70 for the past week. Is there any harm to drive with winters when the temperature is in the 70s other than the tires will wear faster?

No harm other than faster wear. 3/4 of our salesman/test drivers still have their winter tires on...you're fine.

Is there any risk of overheating and blowout at highway speed (~80mph) if the ambient temperature reaches 80-90F provided the tires are properly inflated at factory recommended PSI?

No danger of that. If they are ice compound tires like Blizzak WS70 or Michelin XI2, then the handling will feel more sloppy at higher temps and they will start to wear out more quickly but no dangers of a blowout. If they are performance winter tires like Dunlop 3D or Blizzak LM25 then you may not feel as much of a difference in handling at highway speeds.
