'Looking' at new Estate E-Class Mercedes with 4-matic...but will most likely still keep the old allroad (due to a fond attachment to it)

I would go with a Vw jetta Tdi wagon or a Touareg. Q7 is currently out of my budget.

'06 Subaru WRX Wagon. I had one before the Audi, and I loved it. Sure it's japanese, and rode pretty harsh, but man did it haul *** when you wanted it to. I think if i had a 6spd in the AR I'd be much happier with it. Guess that's the cost of being married. lol

Missed the not used part. I could handle the 2013 WRX wagon I guess. better than the '08 impreza sedan we had for a while.

I'm not an Allroad owner yet (hopefully will be soon), but the only other wagon that would seem to make sense (for me at least) and is similar is a Volvo XC70 (height, ruggedness, size). All the others on the list are much smaller and too polished so I doubt I'd be cross shopping them.

BMW wagon. last real wagon you can get with a stick and AWD. The new Allroad is nice looking, but you can only get it with tiptronic, and it's slower/much less fuel efficient than the new BMW's. Subarus have just gotten so ... ugly. I could probably do a CTS wagon in a pinch, or even an E class wagon with the sweet rear facing seats.

FWIW, I had a 2010 Jetta wagon. It was mexican built like crap and the motor was a complete nightmare to deal with. Never again.

I want the new allroad to be big enough but I don't think it will be - given that I think we're stuck looking at an SUV which neither of us want. Since we're stuck without the option we want it's probably down to an X5 vs Q7.

If we could order a new A6 allroad we would in a second, an A6 avant would come in a close second.
