Is this just happening to 2012's? I have never encountered this FI failure but interestingly, the first time that my intake manifold failed (flap actuator rod failure), the first thing that the service advisor asked me when I described the symptoms was whether I may have recently gotten any "suspect" fuel. I told him I always used Chevron but didn't see how something big enough to clog a fuel injector within 5k (car was fairly new at the time) could have gotten past a fuel filter...

Anyway it was the intake manifold not an injector.

Best regards

Mid October 2011 - (Car is 22 month old w just under 15k miles). Started to experience rough idle and RPMs dropping while sitting in traffic. Scheduled 15k service, described issue i had been experiencing. No issues found, Service rep suggested i try out BG44k.

Early November 2011 - (15.5k miles)Rough idle, RPMs dropping off, now with shaking and power loss. EPC and CEL on. Burning smell/fuel smell. Barely make it home. Audi roadside tows car to service next day. Sporadic misfire code on cylinder 2. Service unable to reproduce the error.

Late November 2011 - (15.7K miles) Same issues as above. CEL back on. Drive back to service. Error for Fuel Rail/System Pressure too low. Replaced Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor. Car in shop 6 days.

Mid February 2012 - (16.5K miles) Same issues as above. Random Misfires. Service removes intake manifold and manually removes carbon buildup from all cylinders. Puts Audi fuel additive in tank. Car in shop 5 days.

Late February 2012(this week) - Same issue as above. EPC and CEL on. Horrible burning/fuel smell, shaking and no power. I had stopped at the store and barely got the car started to go home.
Misfires on cylinder 2, Service thinks it is a broken valve spring. Car will be in the shop for a while.

I love this car but I am kind of done with it. I wish there were more choices in wagons here, I think the Avant is probably the nicest looking. What use is it if you cant get from points A to B. I have been in touch with Audi USA but not sure what they are going to do.
Picked up the car last Thursday. Service told me that AoA requested that they replace all Fuel Injectors on the car. I have driven the car two days (but not in traffic)and it seems to run fine. I will be sitting in traffic this evening which will be a good test. The car does seem to idle a lot smoother now. Could some bad Fuel Injectors be going into some of the cars?

Get my car back this morning. Bad injector #3 replaced. I put 13000 miles on the car within 8 months, but this should not be the problem. Very disappointed to the quality of Audi. The dealer can do nothing but fix it. Will try to contact aoa for the quality and safety issues. Is it possible to get any compensation from aoa like this?

Call AoA.They give me Audi Care for free(it is worth 800$ and 200$ in dealer credit for parts))

I have a 2010 with about 56k miles on it now (would be 60+ if it wasn't in the shop so much). I've had so many fuel injectors replaced now that I've lost track how many. Right now I've got the CEL on with an appointment in a couple days. Once I get that problem cleared up and the CEL light off, I'm heading out to trade this money pit in on something more reliable.

Didn't hear from dealer yet.
We decided to pursue maryland lemon law option.Sending the letter to AoA demanding repurchase or replacement of my car.Failing a claim with State Attorney General Costumer Protection Division.I will also contact the costumer lawyer and NHTSA.
It is a huge bummer for us ,we really like this car,the way it drives and looks.
3 strikes is enough right?
Now depending how it goes,we are favoring replacing it with another audi(maybe all road?)more than canceling the contract depending if audi would be willing to pay the whole amount we owe.
I know that it is a long shot, but we are going to try it.
I will let you know.
Bart.

Twice in the past week, my car has started roughly for around two seconds, accompanied by the EPC light and fluttering tachometer. After two seconds of running roughly, the car started correctly and ran normally. Does this sound like the fuel injector issue? I will be calling my dealer tomorrow morning to make an appointment.

I took a video of my sporadic rough start issue.

Anyone experienced something similar?
