Default Pirelli or Michelin?

I am about to buy my summer tires for next year for my new '12 A6 3.0T. I typically have run Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's on my 2001 A6 2.7T and have been very happy with performance, ride, wear, etc... I see that the stock summer sport tire for the new vehicle is Pirelli P Zeros. Anyone have experience with both and have an opinion?

FYI, several of us had our 2012 A6's with 19" sport package delivered with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetrics instead of P Zeros. I only drove on the F1's for a couple of months before switching to my winter wheels and tires but for the short time I rode on the F1's I was quite pleased. Obviously can't comment on wear though...

Thanks. A review of all three options (compliments of Tire Rack) has the Michelin's in the lead but I appreciate real-world insight from people with actual experience.

get Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (when it is available), they are much better than PS2, PS3 or F1 Asym 1 !

Don't get P Zero bcos it is very noisy , dry grip is ok but wet grip is not so good !

FWIW, I have always run Michelin's and never had any major issues (other than my alignment getting jacked up and having to replace 2 tires after 2k miles)

Hey das2.7:
No comparison!
Michelin Pilot Sport, A&S and Sport2s are exceptional!
Pirelli P Zero Nero on 2001.5, V6 Passat: CRAPPY tires!!!!! Tread wear POOR!!! Sidewall failures!!! Worst performance tire I ever had! If you are a 'drifter' you might like’em, but 'mushy', sloppy in turns, NO confidence even in light rain and terrible tread wear AND the side walls failed on 3 of my 4 AND I know of at least two other guys that had the same sidewall failures. My scathing reviews in Dec-2011 of these Pirellis have not yet posted on DT and TR. I got a mere 29K mi and had to totally baby them the last 9K. YIKES!

Over many yrs, have had 3 sets of 4 and my Michelin Pilot Sport review_BMW 330Ci_Austin, TX_December 19, 2011:
