Bathing is usually not the problem
My lawyer friend is fastidious and she spent one night in a nice $450 a night room in Chicago and brought back home a gift she didn't buy...
after 3 days of torture she called experts....

Had to move out of the condo leaving EVERYTHING behind except stuff that would melt, hired exterminators to come in and seal off the condo, put heaters in each room and heat it to some HIGH temp (200 degrees IIRC) for hours !!!

Quite an ordeal !

lessons learned -
never put suitcases or ANYTHING on the floor in hotel rooms
sleep on TOP the covers
never judge a hotel by it's looks even the best of them have people that bring in the little guest on their clothes!

U can wrap everything in plastic, they'll eventually die, not the BEST method, but it helps...my advise, take the L and buy new furniture/bedding

Those things are tough to kill. Didn't NYC have a huge problem with them? Even the swankiest hotels had bb problems. Thankfully i've never had to deal with the little buggers.

I understand one can catch them from sitting in BMWs.
