Micro SD not working

Sorry if this is a repeat request, but I just purchased a 2011 A4 (S Line). It's has 2 Micro SD slots. I purchased a 16GB card and downloaded some MP3's but when I insert this card into either slot it says "unreadable media"

Any advice or help here is much appreciated for this newbee

Are you sure it takes Micro SD? Not regular SD?
My S4 takes regular size SD cards. If you discover you have the wrong card you can get microSD to SD adapters.

Correct, the 2011 A4/A5 takes a standard SD or SDHC card, not a micro SD.

Sorry, what I meant is that the MicroSD fits into a SD adapter that I plug into the slot in the dash.....but I get a message saying "Unreadable media" on the MMI

Any clue???

I once got an 8gb SD micro card for a phone...got it fairly cheap. Never readable...it was worthless. I think you may have gotten a dud. I'd return it for a standard SD. Apparently, these are made cheaply and some never even work. That was the reasoning I got...hope this helps.

How long are the file names? If you can read it on a PC, but not in the car, I would try shortening the title names if they are really long. Also, I think the cards need to be formatted to FAT32, not NTFS.

I have read that the micro SD cards with adapters are not recommended because they can be loose in the car.

I bet the card needs to be formatted correctly to be read
