Default Wheel Offset

this should be easy to answer for someone.

if i want my wheels to stick out more, giving a wider stance do i need a higher number offset or lower number.

and is this the ET number?

so for a wider stance ET70 would be good? or ET30??

The q7 has negative Offset so decreasing the number moves the rim out. When you get to zero any further will give positive offset and the number will go up. If you are keeping your rims just get spacers and offset will make no difference.

i have the stock 21" s-line rims with 15mm spacers front and 18mm spacers rear.

but i think i could have got away with 23mm rear.

anyway, i am thinking of changing rims, so to get them out more i would need a rim with an off set of a low number.

say ET35?

am i correct in my understanding of your last post?

The offset of 21" OEM is 44 so if you want the equivalent of 23mm spacers you need the offset at 21mm.
If you want ot keep the 18mm spacer but want the rim out a further 5mm then you need the offset at 39.
Unless I am using the wrong calcs, an offset of 35 will give you 9mm more than you have now which is too much with the spacers and too little without.
