Satellite Radio Measuring Blocks

My 05A8 Sirius radio (0F) is intermittent. Measuring blocks 5 and 8 show the following: Audio ON: 5 Signal Strength 4 (best signal per TSB) 8 Service/Provider Info: 0 Terrestrial: 194 Sat: 194 Audio OFF: 5 Signal Strength 1 (no signal) 8 Service/Provider Info: 3 Terrestrial: 194 Sat: 194 Summary: When there is no audio, there is no signal and Service/Provider info changes from 0 to 3. What do the values in block 8 mean and/or where do I find this information. I don't find it in the Bently manual?

Here it is.The TPMS is deliberately turned off, but the digital radio problems preceded this. Aside from some of the codes thrown, nothing other than digital radio 0F is troublesome. That's why I am trying to identify the 0F measuring values. Thanks for your help.

Values in Group 008 are well documented in the label file for that module. Access the 0F module, go to Measuring Blocks, and look at the upper left corner of the screen. You'll find the name of the label file there in "hyperlink format". Click it. It will open in Notepad automagically.

Hey Uwe & gdaniel,
I was reading your post and I think I'm having a similar issue to what you experienced with my 2006 A8. My sirius is linking almost all the time and almost useless and very frustrating. I find myself taking my wife's A4 to work just so I can listen to the howard stern show in the morning. I had Audi check out the unit and although I don't know if they actually checked anything but they said the unit is fine and that if they wanted me to drop the headliner and check the antenna, it would be about $400 in labor time and potentially not fix anything. I'm not sure how to verify that my antenna is ok or if I should just swap in an XM unit and see if that works. I was wondering how you verified that your issue wasn't caused by your antenna. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The SAT receiver is module 0F. Using VCDS, the terrestrial and sat antenna health are shown at measuring block 8. "194" indicates that the antennas and cables are functioning properly. I then replaced the Sirius module with an XM module and the linking was gone. See my post here:

So you are attributing this issue to a faulty Sirius module?
