Default 1985 4000S Quattro running poorly

Hello everyone. I'm hoping you can help me out. I've got an '85 4000S Quattro that's been running poorly. When it's cold it is fine and runs normally. When I go somewhere, though, and it sits for a bit (like 30 minutes or so) it runs rough and hesitates when I start it back up and runs that way for a while. It's done this the last two times I've gone for a drive, the second time worse than the first. Any ideas?
