Default Why Audi uses one piston setup?

Can somebody explain why new A6 Avant has 1 piston brakes. At the same time Subaru puts two piston systems on much smaller and cheaper cars.

Not that I am concern with brake performance of my new A6 - I love it. But still strange.

nearly all of them. There's nothing wrong with a 1-piston system for normal street braking. multiple pistons simple distribute the force more evenly - they dont necessarily apply any more pressure.

The weak link in any brake is heat capacity. This is almost entirely a function of rotor size and cooling and brake pad size and material - none of which have much to do with pistons.

I guarantee - 100% - that your tires will lose grip before your brakes reach their limit.

I didn;t know the piston doesn't have much effect. so, 1piston is enough...
