Default Redline

Not sure how accurate the test is but my car definitely failed this test. It starts rolling slowly as soon as it gets around 5700 rpms. Luckily I have a warranty for the car to be repaired at Audi so this will not be coming out of my pocket. I'll be sure to post the outcome once it's all said and done.
Careful redlining a car that apparently has something quite heavy out of balance.
in the early days of racing flywheels used to get out of balance and detach themselves from the crank, with the amount of weight and speed they used to cut thru the car's body and a few times chopping the driver's legs.
at redline just about any car will start moving lightly, specially a lighter car, even if the flywheel is perfectly fine.

I just ordered my new JHM Flywheel and stage 3 clutch so it better be the flywheel. I've consulted about as many people as I could and I have been told it is the flywheel from everyone. I'm gonna roll with it and hopefully I won't have to replace the engine mounts too. Either way I'm 99.9% sure it is the flywheel.

Unfortunately this happened 8 days after I bought my car after only putting 350 miles on the car. I told this to the owner of the dealership that I bought it at and they told me to f*** off. Appearantly I managed to do this to the car that fast and he blamed my driving. According to them Audis, even brand new ones, cannot be driven fast because they break down. I have driven a manual trans. Audi for 10 years now without ever having a problem but appearantly I did this in 350 miles.

DO NOT GO TO Lucky Motors (http://www.luckymotors.com) in Elmhurst, Il or Addison, Il... They are all thieves. Check their Google reviews here. This is a repeat problem with them and everybody should know this. I watched one of the guys create a fake 5 star review as I was in there complaining about my car, so do not be fooled.

Oh wow man sorry to hear that thats crazy about not driving the car fast its an S4 for gods sake thats what its made for!

Same exact thing happened to me I had the car for about a week before it happened so I feel your pain for sure. I did a stock replacement I got the clutch for 260 and flywheel for 575 and doing the work myself to save a little extra so I took a day off tomorrow to finish it.

Good luck with it man I'll let you know if it fixes the problem for me.

So last week I bought a 2004 S4 with 83000 miles on it well aware there might be a few things that need attention. Everything seemed fine with the car until today when I got off the highway I noticed the car having a shake as I would accelerate starting around 1500 rpms and continuing to around 4000-4250 rpms. Along with the shake, the engine noise seems weird but I'm not sure if it is normal or not as this is the first time being in this car. The check engine light hasn't come on at all. My first assumption was the spark plugs needed to be replaced, which they definitely did, however that didn't solve the problem either. The car doesn't seem like it has suffered any power loss so I am kind of stumped as to what this might be. Any feedback is extremely appreciated.
Yeah I wish I had seen this before I bought my 2004 S4....it had 55000 on it and I paid $23000...Then 90 days later spent another $11000 replacing the cracked trans housing(be careful with this one fellows, too much engine torque, not enough case housing), flywheel, clutch kit, engine mounts, rotors, brakes, calipers, and a complete 60k service. Yeow!

Sounds about the same amount I spent after I had to have everything redone when I found out the mechanic stripped the slave cylinder and burnt out my pressure plate. After all the stress from that the transmission needed to be rebuilt with new synchros, shift collars, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. The mechanic left the underside of my car a complete mess. It cost almost $2000 in parts an labor to repair everything else he messed up. When everything was all said and done I spent a little over $11,000. Worst nightmare I've ever dealt with. Luckily it's over and I have a reputable warranty now and my car is getting the upgrades and love it deserves.
