The cam shaft problem is a known issue for the 2.5TDI engines with motor code AKE. The quality of the cam shafts made for this motors were not good enough. I believe this was for motores produced until 2004 or 2005. When the motor code was chenged to B.. and somthing, the problem was solved. I have seen several motors distroyed from 80000km and up.
The reason for this is if you do a lot of slow driving, you get a carbon particle build up on the valves, wich adds friction between the valves and the cam shaft. The steel quality of the cam shaft was not good enough, and you get a total break down of the motor. I sold my Allroad before this happened to me. I had a 2002 Allroad 2.5TDI |

For the future, only use full synthetic engine oil and you will be fine.
