Default Re-Visit: Power Folding Mirror on LOCK

Okay... i just want to revisit this topic to see if there are any updates.

i took our 2011 Q7 in for service and was given a loaner Q5 to drive around...
guess what, when i lock the car.. the mirror folded.

i jump back in and look at the settings, under Car and under central locking... there is "Retract Mirror"

now, why the hell we don't have this on our Q7? has anyone successfully VAG this?

i have tried to get this going on pre-facelift vehicles and cannot... there is a section for vagcom to enable and disable it and yours should be able to since you are post-facelift. as long as you have memory seats it should work.

same here... you need to be able to acess the long coding helper in (46) central convenience... if you cant then it doesnt seem to be possible. i dont have it, although the software is on the car i am on the latest vcds release 10.6.4 using firmware 1.84 for the adapter and i dont think it will be possible to access it. i have been trying to figure this out for nearly four months.

[46 - Central Conv.]
[Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 7 Bit -> 7 Change 0 to 1
Or Check the box for "Foldable Mirrors Installed "

had someone with VAG looked at my 2011 Q7 and he said the option was not there.
he was looking for a check box, I guess we have to use Long Coding?

maybe someone with more experience in VAG can help....

Default power folding mirrors

Hi,

I have an 2009 Audi Q7 MMI 2G. I tried for long to fold my retractable mirrors when I lock the car. Obviously I can’t access the Central Conv. 46 long coding and manage the byte 7. It seems that it has short coding and I want to know if anyone knows something about it and I can add Retractable mirrors in my MMI 2G menu or simply is impossible. I really appreciate any comment in this matter. It is an old topic but I thought to ask again if someone has some updates! Thanks a lot! You are doing a great job!

Any concerns that this will significantly reduce the life of the motors and or gears? I would like to enable it on mine if people havent had failures as a result.

There are many threads on this. It has definitively been shown to be impossible.

I know, OLD thread. I just tried it with OBDeleven. I see it as an option however it failed. It accepted the coding. I don't know if I did it wrong. About the only thing I noted was when I finished and stepped out of the car. Doors locked but my chirp was gone. I then changed the coding back and my chirp re-appeared. I don't know if I did it correctly or not. See in pics, Last line fold mirrors on lock.
