Default Entended Warranty - Yes or No?

Hi - I'm reaching out as a new RS6 owner (pls see recent post) w/a 18,000 car - the dealer can sell me the warranty he's described below, but I have no idea if this is a good deal - or a reputable company (Protective/National Warranty).

- Any thoughts? See dealer comments Below - Thanks in advance:

"I have a warranty available for the car. It is issued through Protective / National Warranty.

This warranty is NOT cheap, but is an exclusionary service agreement. This means everything on the car is covered except wear and cosmetic items. In short, bumper to bumper.

A 4 year / 48,000 mile is $4876 plus tax.

3 year / 36,000 miles is $3799 plus tax.

These are 3 and 4 years from date of purchase, and the mileage is in addition to what is on the car. IE the 4 yr/48 would cover until April of 2015 or 66716 miles."

I bought an extended warrenty through Sunset Audi in California after I bought my RS6 in Texas and was driving it home to Seattle, WA. (Now that was an awesome drive!)

So far the warrenty has been well worth every penny in my opinion. These are extremely high performance cars and extremely expensive for parts and labor. So I bought a 7yr/100,000mile. (Talk about expensive!!)

If it is really bumper to bumper and a solid insurance company then I would vote yes.

Hopefully that helps.

Default 2005 A6 4.2 Qua 56000 miles- Extended Warranty?

I recently got this 2005 A6 4.2 from dealer. He was even giving me the same info for the warranty.

$3500 for 24000miles/2 year
And price goes on high while adding years.

Is it worth buying it?? I know its good buying warranty, but looking for advices/suggestions if there are any better options.
I heard that there are different packages in warranty like Platinum, Gold+, Gold, Silver and _____.

Can someone please advice. This is my first Audi. Any headsup for this model Audi (4.2 A6 sedan) regarrding maintainance etc..

Appreciate your responses
