Default A7 Test Drive

The Audi of Bedford had a A7 to test drive and here is what I think of the car. I might have to wait a couple of years to pick up this car, since I have a M3 vert on order, can't cancel it right now. I think by then the bugs will be ironed out and more options might be available. Was interested in the CLS550, but the tech on this car will make me think twice on the CLS550.

AMAZING.

Pros :
1. Loaded with tech
2. B&O Sound system
3. LED headlights
4. Audi Drive select is great
5. Low road and wind noise
6. Steering is great if it is set to Dynamic in Audi drive select
7. Heads up display rocks, almost feels like BMW one but with a different color.
8. Like the LCD screen in the instrument cluster
9. Feels like a small car
10. Great price for what it offers, you can get a Prestige with B&0 and Innovation package for around $78K.
11. Ambient lighting is great
12. Decently soft ride quality on 20" rims, wonder how it will feel with the air suspension.
13. As you start to approach $80K-$100k in car price, the cars tend to get larger and don't give out a young, fresh and new look. They tend to get bigger, and start looking like big family cars. This car does not.
14. Perfect car for people in their later 20's early 30's and newly married couple without kids.

Cons :
1. Wish it had softer leather options , like Nappa, Milano ?
2. Soft close doors as an option is required for this car. Every time I closed the door, i was expecting the door to be pulled in.
3. Rearview camera resolution was lower and blurry compared to a 750li's camera.
4. Would be nice if Air suspension can be ordered
5. Something funny about the MMI **** coming from a iDrive and Command.
6. Massage seats also would be great

I had similar impressions when I drove the local demo last week. I did think the 20" tires gave a lot of road noise with the sports suspension. I was the first customer to drive it as it had just arrived---the Google maps overlay (Audit Connect) hadn't been activated so I didn't see this feature in action yet. Will try it later this week.

Most of the items in your "Cons" listing are solved if you lived in Europe where they have much more to choose from than here, sadly. Audi might trickle them to us with each new model year.

Did your dealer's demo have a padded seating area in the rear where the middle passenger could/would sit if there were a seat belt installed? Ours had a couple of cheap-looking storage bins in the middle bottom seat position---totally unlike any of the photos on-line or literature.
