Default Audi TT - matte black - Vancouver

2008 Audi TT - matte black vinyl wrap install (original color: silver)

Hi, we did a matte black vehicle install for a customer last week. We spent around 30 hours on the car in total - We removed the door handles, roof antenna, various covers and lights.

Thought you guys would appreciate the pics.

Americo,

I actually like how your car looks much better....for me, matte black looks pretty bad....like a car in need of a good paint job. To each their own but my guess is the look, if anything devalues the car if on the market to be sold..

Hey Bostton,
Yeah I'd probably never do it but the cool thing about the wrap is it can be removed and (supposedly) the cars paint stays intact. So you could drive it around for a while till you get sick of it and just peel it off. Yeah I know probably an ordeal to get it off! How's your car? Still love mine...did you get a letter about the Mechatronic unit? Got one last week, have not had any trouble with mine and am unsure if I want to have the dealership replace it specially when there is no issue.

Hmmm, did not realize one could peel off the wrap. Still think it looks like crap but must say that the key would be seeing it in person vs the pics posted.

Still loving the 2009 TTR. Am especially looking forward to how it will handle in the snow....much better than my 2004 MK1 TTR and given we recently sold our Lexus IS250 AWD (my wife's car) for a fully loaded VW GTI (FWD), my guess is that I'll be wanting to use the TT more in the snow. Will admit that I miss my 2004 TTR....in some ways, the MK1 blows the MK2 model out of the water (can also say that in some ways, the MK2 blows the MK1 out of the water). Too bad I could not keep both cars....at least one of my cars needs to have a back seat!

What's the letter you are talking about (that I obviously have never received)?

Cheers.

1st Off Happy Holidays Everyone!

BosTTon.....I got a letter from Audi of America acknowledging an issue with the mechatronic unit. It effects the vehicles built between 2007-2009 ...they have stated if your vehicle shows signs of jerking between gears or does not have smooth shifting ..then it should be replaced under warranty.....if nothing is wrong then your warranty on said item will be covered for the extended period of 10 years 100,000 miles which ever comes first. I heard others had received this letter a while ago but I just got it beginning this month...so I'm sure you'll receive one..but even if you don't you will be able to take advantage of this.... because your car falls into the build dates.

BosTTon ...Got another letter Saturday ....Warranty Extension - Xenon Bulbs for certain 2006-2008 model year vehicles equipped with Xenon headlights.
I already have the extended warranty but I guess the lights were excluded from the warranty and now they are covering them... for 4 years/50,000 miles.
Pretty good!

Oh man!

I have the exact same car and would like to do the matte black or grey - I'm in Ontario though...

How much did you charge for this?

Thanks,
