Default 4K turbo thoughts and ideas. Digifant conversion, turbo NA I5 engine.

well i just picked up an 84 4000S quattro. i've done just about every swap in the VW world, everything from run of the mill to completely off the wall franken engines. first thought i had when i picked this up was to go 10VT or 20VT, i chose 10VT because 20VT's are kind of hard to come by and rather expensive. with my choice of the 10VT for now i was on the hunt for an audi 5000 swap car but after some reading on the current engine thats in the car the compression is supposedly 8:5:1. question one is, does the 4000 engine share the same forged internals as the 5000 engine? i have a 5000 turbo manifold, K24 from an S4, K26, 5000 turbo wastegate, most of the downpipe, intercooler, and intake manifold. i figured i'd just bolt all this to my engine and see where it goes, i know the compression is right for boost but i fear running the boost too high and damaging rod/pistons because they arent forged.

on to my digifant idea. i've built an MK2 G60 GTI, 16V G60 rabbit GTI, MK2 G60 XFLOW turbo GTI, scirocco 16V converted to digifant 1, jetta coupe with digifant 2, jetta GLI with digifant 2, etc. all the boosted cars and the scirccco ran on custom mapped digifant 1 programs. i know digifant 1 batch fires injectors, and sparks every time a window opens in the distributor. Digifant 1 is a fairly simple engine managment and i think with a 5 window audi dustributor, some injector bungs from an 8V digifant engine, a custom fuel rail with some help from my brother and his work, i have been talking with a very well know digifant 1 tuner AKA the owner of SNS Tuning about this idea and help with the mapping of the ECU to run digifant 1 N/A and boosted on a 10V, figuring out which injectors to run and some sensor mounting. any of you guys see any holes in my idea? my goal is to be able to run a factory VW/audi EFI engine managment on a 10V engine. i built a CIS turbo rabbit many moons ago and i was not happy with the reliability of it, even had some of the needed callaway parts for the build. on a last note i have successfully made a VW 16v turbo run on 1G DSM engine managment using DSMlink V3 so im not new to messing with engine managment systems and hybrid engine swap's. lets hear what you guys have to say about this idea.
