John P. (TT 225)'s 2011 Audi S5 Thread ...
After a 2-year dalliance with a Mazdaspeed3, I'm coming back to Audi.
I had one of the first 225-horsepower TTs in the US, having placed my deposit in 1998 after reading an article in Automobile Magazine. I received that car in 2000; here it is shortly before I had to sell it for a bigger car in 2008 due to space constraints (AKA, 2 little guys):
<img src="https://forums.audiworld.com/picture.php?albumid=15642&pictureid=32811">
And here's the utterly-capable-but-lacking-in-personality-and-refinement Mazdaspeed3 that is getting replaced:

I've loved the S5(& A5), ever since one first crept into my rearview mirror. I ordered my S5 in July/August 2010, consisting of the following specs & options:
•Quartz Gray Exterior
•Magma Red Interior
•Sport Differential
•Carbon Inlays
•B&O Stereo
The car has been built, and is expected to port in late December. Excited? Yes.
Being familiar (and addicted) with modifications after owning the TT (but uninterested in modding the Mazdaspeed3--no surprise), I've wasted little time in preparing for the S5's arrival.

Okay, time to get a little more serious with the mods. I mentioned above that I'm keeping the stock 19"s on the S5. After a lot of researching on the forums, it seems I'll be happiest with spacing the wheels 20mm in front, and 25mm in the rear. I bought the H&R DRA spacers (bolt to hub) from PureMS.com.

You might have noticed that blue box under the spacers on the picture above.
As I mentioned earlier, I had a lot of fun with mods on the TT, though I always regretted going with springs & shocks instead of coilovers. The primary reason being a perfectly symmetrical drop. I had no doubt that it'd be coilovers this time.
After a lot of back-and-forth between KW v1s and H&R Streets, I decided to go for the H&Rs. Why? After a lot of research, I found more people had issues with the KWs in the past year and a half--spring sagging, noise, etc. I know they're comfortable and a good option, and though I was always envious of the KW kit for the TT, I ultimately went H&R here.

Also ordered from PureMS.com is an A.W.E exhaust. It should be here in the next few weeks.
I chose this one based on the raves from owners, and some rather convincing clips on YouTube. I can't wait.
I plan to install this myself as soon as I get the car.

I just installed my Milltek catback exhaust a few days ago. Took and hour and a half. Piece of cake.

Having added audio upgrades to all my cars over the past 20 years, I've been following all of the threads on bass upgrades to the B&O system on B8 A/S4s and A/S5s. Many of the upgrades I've found are either subwoofer replacements using the stock amp to drive a new 10" sub in Infinite Baffle (in the stock location/rear deck, with Dynamat), or an enclosure somewhere in the trunk. Here's a link to a post I made of a decent-looking fiberglass option that I'll be considering:
