Regarding any cables that are NOT official Ross Tech cables yet run with the VAG COM software- There can be NO discussion, links to sites selling, or anything else having to do with knock off cables in the AudiWorld forums. Ross Tech owns the copyright/patent on the cable, and unfortunately some unsavory types out there in the electronics world have seen fit to attempt to copy the cables and then sell them to unsuspecting buyers. Our advise is to steer FAR clear from any diagnostic cable that is not an official Ross Tech cable (there are only a few legitimate alternative diagnostic cables, and those would not use the VAG COM software). Ross Tech is a friend and sponsor of the AudiWorld forums, it is our feeling that they deserve the business from our community, and they deserve our protection from the people who attempt to steal their designs. This forum is also NOT the place for any discussion of alternate cables/scan tools, including advertising.
