Default 2005 Audi A8 MMI and Nav update

Hi Folks, I just bought a 2005 Audi A8 with 30k miles on it in Northern California. I don't believe that the MMI or Nav has ever been updated. I was wondering what the best way to go about doing this would be (aside from the dealer--they didn't seem like they wanted to)? I am trying to get the mObridge ipod and bluetooth installed, but my software is too out of date. Any help would be much appreciated!

Best bet and safest would to get the MMI updated by the dealer, as they would now the exact order of the updating that needs to be done. Its an extremely pricy fix if done wrong. $2000 I've heard to replace the MMI unit. The Nav is as simple as ordering the newest year of maps, ejecting your old dvd out of the trunk and popping in and installing the new dvd.

p.s. (i've tried 4 different backed-up or copied versions of the 2010 maps and they were intermittent only working half the time, other half they wouldn't navigate at all.

Get the real ones from www.navteq.com

There is a couple of threads already on this topic if you search maybe back to last week, some being below. I don't know how difficult it is but reading it doesn't sound that hard at all but i've yet to see my A8 to do anything to it, but only 35 more days and I will.

question I have is has anyone ordered discs from?? http://www.worldimpex.com/empty_cart.html if you input the part numbers the 3360 disc comes out as $7 which doesn't sound right to me.

Brozee, what did you have the NAV burned on, cause I uh..know a guy who burned the lasted Navteq for his wife's car (granted not an Audi) and he got it to work with no issues. He used a Verbatim DL DVD, did you and do you know what program was used to burn with? He also knows some components have issues with cheap DL DVD's and that Verbatim is the best to use when "backing up" proprietary software. Just curious.

version 2750 and below have to be upgraded to 3360 before upgrading to a higher version
ver 3360 (3.3.60) - {Update CD p/n 4F0 906 961AB}
ver 4140 (4.1.40) - {Update CD p/n 4L0 906 961 H}
ver 4610 (4.6.10) - {Update CD set p/n 4F0 998 961}

I actually bought it off a guy off of one of these audi forums. I paid $90 from paypal for it, and I didn't know it was burned, the guy even put the original printed label onto the disc, so I don't know exactly what brand it is, nor what speed he burned it at. All I know is that he said I was one of the few people that ever had problems, granted he sent me 4 different discs. So he just refunded me the money after the last didn't work. If you come across a working copy please let me know I'm still stuck with 2004 maps
Thanks!
