Rob's '09 A4

I'm bringing my '09 A4 Prem + (not B&O)to the dealer this week for my 5K service and have asked them to determine why I hear nothing from L/R tweeters located on the pillers next to the rear view mirrors. There are grills there, but no sound, even with the volume cranked up. I mentioned this to the service rep and was told the grills were there only for looks.

Anyone out there hear sound?

Look closer at the grills. They are fake. The Prem+ Symphony tweeters are in the dash left/right. B&O has tweeters in the doors.

For comparison look at the rear door tweeter grills - you will be able to see actual through holes, the trim piece on the front door just has "indentations" not through holes. It's just for looks.

Amazing! Fake grills that are not there to cover a whole that would have been taken by some option? Why?

Why is it that I never believe the Service people when they tell me something is not broke...?

because the B&O option puts speakers there - so instead of making an ugly (and obvious) filler piece to go there, they used fake grille... pretty smart IMO...

well, then... there aren't any grills on the pillars (on any model).

The only places there are grills are, In the front L/C/R dash, on the corners of the doors, and on the bottom of the doors...
when you don't have B&O the corner door grills are fake because there isn't a speaker in there...
