Default A/C Condenser Fan Not Working!

Hey guys,

I have a 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro.

My A/C condenser fan is not working. I bought a new one and replaced it, thinking that it would fix the problem. I should have tested the old one first. Turns out both the fans are good! $70 down the drain. Oh well, you live and you learn.

Anyway, any advice on where to look next? It gets HOT in my car during the summer!

Check fuses, check the relay under the knee bolster, check wiring harness (brown round plug) next to ABS pump and power steering fluid tank. Multimeter is your best friend.

why should I check the power steering fluid for that? Funny you should mention that though... I am having MAJOR power steering PUMP issues since this winter when I busted my power steering hydraulic cooling line. I replaced it AND the pump. It worked for a while now its leaking again and another pump is blown!

I didn't say to check it. I said to check the wiring NEXT TO IT.

You need a wiring diagram and fuse layout. Consult your service manual for that.

Don't miss the resistor. Audi calls it the blower control module. If you're getting 12 volts to the resistor and 0 volts out of it......end of story.
