I'm not too interested in the Xcarlink but I just wanted to comment on how awesome your sig is. It describes me perfectly ever since I got my A4 (1 yr, 3 months, 7 days ago ). After hitting lock on my remote key fob, I stare at my car as I walk away. When I finally start looking forward, my gf is either already giving me the evil eye or she rolls her eyes at me LOL

Just to be clear, what version MMI do you have and did you already have Nav? I would love to install this unit, but I'm in a non-Nav '09.

Sorry to be so ignorant about this (never really fully understood what was required here), but what components did you need to purchase in addition to the XCARLINK component?

no problem, everything is included in the xcarlink kit, i only had to buy the video out cable for the ipod, if you already have a portable dvd player or the cable for ipod you wont ned anything else.

Question: can you input VGA into xcarlink?

Based on what I've read/seen, we need one more box that takes VGA input and outputs component/composite. Have you experimented with car pcs at all?

iflywoe- I'm curious how the Proclip attaches to your car. Do you have additional photos of it? I want to get one for my iPhone so I can mount it for viewing the traffic maps on my commute.

The photo below is from the install instruction.
The there is a slit on the vertical part that is pressed in to the right of the CD-player and an adhesive on the horisontal support that attach to the panel.

I use the other Proclip version that fits to the left of the nav-screen. I have mounted mine more to the left so it doesn't block the nav-screen. Only the lowest leftmost keys on the phone are blocked by the steering wheel but I can see them if I move my head a little. (Best position might depend on the size of your phone).
