Default A/T fluid for my 2005 Audi A6

My car takes A/T fluid G055 005 A2.
I believe this is blue fluid.
My car has 50K miles. I don't believe that A/T fluid
lasts forever. Is there a suitable after market replacement
of this fluid, as the VW dealer can sell me like $36 per quart
which is expensive, the audi dealer is out of sight like $42-50
per quart.
I changed out the A/T fluid in my VW Passat (says A/T is filled
for life), the fluid drained was like black, and the new fluid
is like light brown.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The G 055 005 a2 is not blue AFT fluid.
The Audi blue ATF price is much higher (around $80 per quart).
Part number should be G 055 162 A2.

I don't know if mine was ever changed by the dealer. If they have my VIN can they tell if the oil was changed by any Audi Dealer?
I asked my indy shop and they didn't seem to feel confident to perform the change for me.

Default Regarding ATF fluid

I gave the vin# and also the tag on the transmission, the dealer gave me the part# and said that it is blue fluid. My car has 6 speed transmission.

The Blue for the ZF is much higher priced, dealer is certainly is not quoting the correct price for the Quattro 6 Speed juice so you must have the front wheel drive CVT transmission?
If I remember correct..the A6 Q 6sp Auto uses the Blue ZF Lifeguard6

call ZF

Default A/T fluid for Audi A6

Based on the tag on the transmission and VIN# which was given to the dealer and also Blauparts folks, they gave me that part# which is blue fluid.
I know it is 6 speed transmission and quattro.
I have to get under the car again and get the tag on the transmission again as I misplaced it.
According to BlauParts, there is no substitute for the blue fluid.

Default Regarding ATF in Audi A6

Has anyone changed out the ATF (blue) expensive fluid in newer model Audi A6?
I can get at $29.20 per quart. Was wondering if this is the lowest price
available? I have changed out the ATF fluid in my 2004 Passat using the VAG-COM. I already have the new filter and gasket.
Any tips and suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks

If the bottle they're selling doesn't say ZF Lifeguard 6 or 6 Plus then it's not the BLUE and your not buying the right transmission fluid period. ZF makes it clear why that trannie needs that exact fluid, assuming your car has the zf6hp19a.
