I agree about savings. Especially if you can't convert those few hours to that or more money, or even more if you enjoy and relax doing it.

No sophisticated electronics ab front. Just little harness to connect. Same as many. Only heavier parts.

Anyone have the actual OEM part numbers and sizes for the front and rear pads and rotors?

I've been to several sites all saying oem with different rotor diameters, etc.

Some of the sites seem to throw in the W12/S8 fitments: those are 385mm front, 335mm rear. If you have a 4.2, clearly just skip past those sizes and fitments.

If a site is still confused, I move on. Not interested in hassles of returning parts if wrong, especially heavy ones like rotors.

Default Procedure is fiddling, but no...

you don't need a car charger. At least I haven't. But if your laptop is old like my PC dinosaur that got replaced by a Mac but is still needed to run VAG COM S/W, you may need a charger for that! ... it takes a while.

Do I have to run the Vag com twice when doing the left and rear pads/rotors?

I ran it once and replaced the drivers side rotors and pads no problem. Went to the pass side and took apart the calipers, but can not get the rotor off at all. Im not sure if it's rusted on or what? I've used WD40 and a soft mallet hammer to see if I could break it loose but this thing isnt budging at all. The drivers side was simple and came right off with no force at all.

Do I need to rerun the Vag setting to release parking brake again for the pass side rear?

I have had to use a torch to heat the rotor where it contacts the hub, After a minute, Beat the rotor off with a 10# sledge hammer. Popped it right off.

I'm using a 12 year old Thinkpad with a battery that doesn't really hold a charge, but I have an outlet close to the driver's door, so at least it works to run VAG-COM. Not likely to see a Mac version of the software anytime soon, so perhaps I can jump to a tablet version (when it comes out and if it has full functionality).

Yes, I literally had to beat the rotor silly and it finally broke free. The rears were a piece of cake. The fronts a PITA b/c of the extra bolts that needed to be removed and replacing the caliper clip.

I ran through the vagcom settings per instructions and I still have the annoying brake pad warning icon. I've hooked up the new sensors and pressed the brake pedal a few times, even drove around the block and it's still there.

Is there something else I need to do to clear the code? I tried clearing codes via vagcom but it's still there.
