Nobody but Audi knows. Here are my thoughts on an Audi A4 TDI http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q_h...A4avanttdi.htm Summary of my total speculation: Yes they want to bring it, yes to quattro, either 2.0L 170hp engine or 3.0L TDI engine, same as touareg and Q7.

If the Q7 TDi doesn't sell well in the USA I doubt Audi will bring the 3.0 into any other models.

The new diesel autos and SUVs are still "on trial" here in the USA. They're going to have to enjoy widespread acceptance and demand before the product offerings expand. It costs them much $$$ to develop and certify each product. Those costs have to be spread across the cars sold here in the USA since the exhaust aftertreatment routine is unique to this country.

That's my TDI experience, too -- just yesterday I was at Jim Ellis in Chamblee, doing the paperwork on the A3 TDI I ordered back in October. Couldn't get much of a break on the price, but they did throw in AudiCare. The car was on the truck from Brunswick yesterday, and I should take delivery this afternoon.

It's the limited range and dealer service only of the AdBlue tank that has me hesitating. |

Is Adblue available at auto parts stores, and is this something I could do myself? Or is the tank set up in such a way that only the dealer can fill it?

There are two tanks. You can make an emergency add to get you to a dealer for a complete fill and resetting the software. Read the PDF file in the response to my message about how far it will go.
