your numbers should appear on the instrument panel and you can dial with a button and use blue tooth. It's not that distracting. Voice command will always be better of course

Thanks, Jim. To make a call, I have to take my iPhone out of my pocket, turn on the voice command and hope that it picks the right one. That's not exactly hands free. Selecting a number using the left button on the steering wheel requires taking your eyes off the raod. Not ideal and not good enough from a top of the line Audi

I'll send him a note today. Are you willing to participate in a class action law suite against Audi for false advertising and breach of contract?

A few questions for you, if you don't mind.

1) What exactly are you asking AoA to do ? have a recall to retrofit the voice module on all sold S5 Cabs ? buy the car back from you at full price ? or some type of monetary compensation ?

2) Who is the lawyer that will be do this, and if possible, the fee involved ? what is his cut when the case is resolved ?

3) What's your occupation ?

I have found that writing to the top actually helps, and if enough of us do it I'll bet we get a response. So, here's his address:

Mr. Johan de Nysschen
President
Audi of America, Inc.
2200 Ferdinand Porsche Drive
Herndon, VA 20171
I have submitted a letter to the President of AoA. I'll keep you posted as to if and when I get a reply.

In my letter to the President of AoA, I asked him to make one phone call to whomever it is that is responsible for deleting voice command from the A5/S5 cabriolet and to either replace or retrofit the module to the car. I love the car and I don't want to give it back. I am not looking for money.

I don't have a lawyer yet but can get one, easily should the need arise.

I am a physician and surgeon and I don't like being screwed by anybody

I think this is a reasonable approach. What portion of the cost of the nav+/prestige options is the voice command? A few hundred dollars at best. Hardly, adequate compensation for the aggravation of not having it when you thought it was included. We should all write letters requesting a retrofit. If we really want to be aggressive, threatening to complain to our state attorney generals and/or whoever oversees the auto industry http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/index.shtml would probably be more effective than a class action suit.

I agree with S5-Cab-10, good move in sending Mr. Johan de Nysschen a letter regarding your concerns and complaints. Retrofitting the cars make the most sense to me as well.

As a fellow physician/surgeon, I too know that finding a lawyer is easy, perhaps too easy, especially with class action type of cases.

No one likes to be screwed by anybody, and hopefully, Mr. Johan de Nysschen/AoA will listen and react if enough of us writes in about this. Please keep us posted and I will soon follow with my own letter as well.

I sent off a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission this morning. Took 5 minutes. I recommend that all S5/A5 cab owners do the same thing. www.ftc.gov/bcp/index.shtml.

I think I'm also going to get our NY State Attorney General involved. Andrew Cuomo is a real bulldog on stuff like this.

More to come!

I followed the link to the FTC. And it indeed is easy, quick, and painless to submit a complaint. I also encourage you to do so. Hopefully the FTC will understand that although they receive only a relatively few complaints on this, there are in fact relatively few A5/S5 Cabriolet owners out there to complain. Therefore everyone of us needs to submit a complaint.
