Default US S4 vs european S4

When configuring the S4 on a European audi web site ,you can as option get Audi hold assist and adaptive front light .
My guess is ,the Audi hold assist is for manual 6 sp S4 .
Are the US model equiped in serie ?
I can't find info on the 2010 S4 documentation .

I'm pretty sure the US 6MT has hill hold on it. I don't have mine yet, but i recall reading something about setting the parking brake on a hill and then when you let the clutch out, the brake automatically releases.

hill assist works as such:
you set the electronic parking brake and when the car determines there is enough force being applied from the motor to the wheels it will release the e-brake automatically.

Personally I don't like it that much, but I've only tried it a couple times.

The nice thing about it, is if you've parked and are about to drive away, it will release automatically there as well.

I also think, don't quote me, that you could purchase those european adaptive lamps and just swap them, tell your car you have adaptive head lights via VAG-COM and they'll work.

Default Regenerative braking in Euro?

I am trying to find whether the Euro version has regenerative braking which helps in mpg. I checked the british site but I could not find anything. There was a test done last September with a euro 2010 S4 that got very good mpg, 30-34 mpg and it talked abour regenerative braking system on the S4. I will search some other european websites.

Will regen brakes being recalled by Toyota and Ford, I don't think I trust the technology yet.

My 335i has a better system. When on a hill, the brake automatically holds car in place for 3-4 sec. Nothing to push or activate. IMHO, it is a nice feature that I will miss on my S4.

lol, true. But if you are not wearing a seat belt, you should not be driving.

that's totally true - when I test drove the 335 i really liked the hill assist - you don't have to do anything to make it work.

U.S. models don't have Hill Hold. That is an automatic system, much like the one described for the BMW. European Audis have Hill Hold as an optional feature. The U.S. feature described above is just an automatic release of a manually engaged e-brake. True Hill Hold doesn't even use the e-brake, but rather the ABS system.
