Default Sensors in the front brake pads

I've looked around and couldnt find anything on just replacing the sensors rather than the whole pad itself. My pad is fine but the sensors are worn and giving that pad worn light.

Any idea if u can just change the sensor?

Yes - you can just change the sensor without touching the pads, but do you know why the senser is "worn?" Are you sure your pads are still OK? It may be tough to find a vendor who sells the senser "loose" - you could try your local Audi dealer. You could always just short the two leads in your old sensor wire cable together - that would fool the system into thinking the senser is still OK. Of course, you're be on your own to determine when the brake pad is actually worn.

sensors are molded into pads, unnecessary unless your blind,i put pads on without sensors no problem, just visually check pads!!

uh, how does one replace the wear sensor? Its molded into the pad (unlike, for example, porsche where it is a loose part)

just cut sensor off the old pads, plug it in and i taped the raw wires and fastened it so it would not flop around, yes you have NO sensor reading but you have EYES! either you or your servicing mechanic can eyeball the pads, whenever i rotate tires or put snow tires on do a complete visual inspection, thats what the STEALERS charge big $$$$ for, check this check that, give me a check for $$$$. a qualified independent is cheaper and usually more concerned with repeat business!!
