Default Sirius Activation Problems

Just purchased an 05' A6 3.2 with Factory Sirius Sat. The Previous owner had a working subscription. When the subscription was cancelled the screen now says: Call Sirius to activate and has the SID number. I called Sirius and purchased a subscription and gave them the SID number. Sirius then said to go to channel 184 to activate the radio. The problem is my Radio will not recognize any Sat channels and I am unable to go to channel 184.

Sirius advised calling the dealer to do a hard reset. Has anybody ever had this problem or heard of this. Any Ideas?

I am having the exact same problem with my Q5. Bought a used (demonstrator) Q5 with trial service that ran out. Now I am having problems getting it activated. Haven't found the time to get it to the dealer.

Problem is Fixed. Finally got a Sirius Customer Service Person who knew what they were doing. Here's how they got it to activate.
Stay On the phone with the Sirius Rep while doing this.
Turn off the radio, Turn Car Off, Take Key Out Of The Ignition, Open The Drivers side Door, Have The Sirius Rep Do What They Termed A Hard Re-Set and Re-Send Signal, Wait 30 Seconds, Put Key back in the Ignition, Start Car, Turn Radio On and The Sirius Was Activated At last. Hope This Helps Anyone Else In Need.
