Default Squeaky brakes, "part x"...resolution

Just picked up car form the dealer- There is a TSB for the squeaky brakes: 2017130/6. TSB was performed- brake squeal gone.

As to why there is a TSB out there, it is because car owners bring their car in to the shop, and explain the issue. Dealers begin the information flow back up to Audi; they identify a fix, then issue a TSB. All while still under warranty. I say this because i do not believe it should be up to the car owner to fix their own issues that are warrantable and still under warranty.

no disrespect to those who tried the 60-10 bedding procedure--- to all who have the issue- reference this TSB and be rid of the squeaks!!!

Do you know what they did? When I brought my car in last week they used compressed air to blow out the dust from the pads and then washed the wheel/brake area. Knock on wood, I am now 4 days without a squeal.

do you have a listing or link of the TSB for the squeaky brakes: 2017130/6? I could not locate it with a search.

Thanks,
Bruce

I did a bit of poking around and found this one - it's the same base number as the one listed above (this one is for an A6)...

I found plenty with same base number, just not the /6 that IAS5 referred to.

Irony - the first entire part of this TSB is a step by step which is essentialy: Bed the brakes.

Bruce- the only code on my repair sheet was the number listed above. I do not have a link.

Here's what was printed on my sheet:

"brakes squeak- replicated, and followed TSB 2017130/6. Removed front wheels,. Removed front brake calipers. Cleaned and sanded brakes pads per TSB, and applied chamfer to pads. Cleaned brake calipers and caliper brackets. applied brake grease to contact points. Reassembled...."

Similar to the thread link above, but they did not bed the brakes. I specifically asked if this did this at all, and my SA said that had not...

what's interesting is that the link above appears similar to what they did to mine (sans the bedding), and has a warning statement that says to not used compressed air to clean the brakes...
