Not a former Lexus owner but am a current '10 A4 Prestige w 6MT owner.
Either get an S4 or A4 and then get the ECU reprogrammed (chipped). This can be done with no warranty interference. (HP and torque go up significantly over stock). Audi Drive select is very versitile as well as noticeable and can be matched up with either 18" or 19" sport package.

I have 2010 A4 Premium+. What exactly does having the ECU reprogrammed do?

If you get the Stasis ECU, Stasis provides 3rd part coverage for anything Audi won't cover -- thus the (typically) higher cost of the Stasis tune. You take on additional risk with the other companies since they don't provide a warranty. There are several reputable ECU tuners out there and the chance of having issues with one of these high quality tunes may be small but they are not zero.

http://goapr.com/includes/img/produc...1_93_crank.gif However -- they are not able to do in-car reprogramming for 2010 models yet (expected soon -- you can search the forums).

Anyway I am now in a 2009 A4 2.0 Quattro, Premium Plus sport suspension. German cars do not give the Japanese tech and interior luxury bang for the buck. They do reward with a superb driving experience and ergonomics. Fold down rear seats are a great convenience. My Audi has excellent build quality. It is a head turner exuding class and style. I suggest prepaying for Audi Care service. Audi dealers vary and do not have the red carpet feels of Lexus. Choose the dealer carefully. 10,000 mile oil changes are nice but the turbo needs a quart or 2 between changes. The sport package is highly recommended for a sporty driving experience but needs snow tires in the winter. There may be some 2009 A4 3.2s around. A good deal. A bit less mileage but a silky smooth engine. Maybe they will deep discount an A6 since sales of that model are down. The only Japanese car I would consider is an Infiniti G35X. Keep away from the M35X. It cannot drive straight. I did test drive the Acura TL-4 wheel. I was OK but too ugly for my taste.
