D2 Coilover Review...
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/29399/d2_instlled_pass_front.jpg">
Well I finally got a chance to toss the car around on the new suspension...it's pretty damn nice! Eliminated dive under hard braking, stays flat under dips and humps, almost no understeer, and it's stiff but drivable...it's a lot more drivable for a daily driver than I thought it would have been with 6/700lbs springs...
one thing that is bothering me is that it is a little bouncy...this can easily be eliminated with adjusting the fronts...as it is right now the spring is not preloaded enough and a can get rid of the bounciness by cranking up the spring and also moving up the strut body (to keep the same ride height)...
it nice being able to adjust the ride to my liking, rather than getting stuck with something too stiff and not being able to change it...

Hmm.
Cranking the spring up higher will cause the ride to be MORE bouncy, as you're increasing preload and spring tension.
To eliminate the bounciness you can either lower the spring rate or increase the rebound damping.

Re: Hmm.
I thought that, but I had the springs cranked up and there wasn't any bonciness...then when I changed them and cranked it down I started noticing it...
I guess I'm gonna have to play with it, but I feel that if I play with the spring and get them back to their original setting and bring the strut sleeve up to keep the lower height it might help it out...

Coilover guys: if I raise the car, will the ride be stiffer? I have 1.5" gap in the front right now.
