Default 2010 2.0T Prestige Mods

I’ll be taking delivery of 2010 Prestige, 2.0T, Quattro, Tip, Sport in a couple of weeks and will be trading in my B6 3.0 Quattro, MT6, Sport (hands down, the best car that I’ve ever owned). Although I’ve driven comparable B8’s, to be honest, I’m a bit apprehensive about going from a 6 cyl to a 4. Although I know I’ll appreciate the low end torque, better fuel economy and cheaper insurance premiums, I’m considering an APR ECU upgrade (first) followed by an AWE exhaust later. I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews on both but I’m wondering if anyone that actually has experience with either of the two mods could speak to any negatives. Secondly, can anyone make recommendations on APR authorized installers in Iowa or one of the bordering states?

I have the AWE exhaust on my 09 A4 2.0T. It sounds amazing. I had it now for about two months. No problems crisp clean sound still. I am saving up for a ECU as well. As for the AWE I find nothing bad to say for it thus far.

On the AWE exhaust... did you install it yourself or have a mechanic or exhaust specialist shop do it???

Just got the APR software on my 09 2.0T S-line. Makes a world of difference. There is a sale going on now for a fully loaded ecu. No negatives so far.

APR does not have software for the 2010 ECU yet. I don't know what is different between 2009 and now, but there is something.

I check the APR site regularly, they changed the listing for 2009 to 2009+ for the A4 on their ECU upgrade.

I'm also thinking of getting it, however I want to hit 8000km (first oil) change before doing so. I've read here that people here are getting better fuel consumption after the first oil change (8000 to 10000km). I'm guessing that Audi uses an "initial" map for break in and then just flips back to the regular map when break in is complete. This is completely fabricated by me from feedback i've received from different members. I'm a bit apprehensive of doing this upgrade before my break in is complete (my perceived notion of break in which is around first oil change).

I had a mechanic install it. I went to Tyrosol from some recommendations on this forum. They are very good. I live in New York City. If you do as well, I highly recommend them. And there a ton cheaper then A.W.E was offering.
