Default SD Card...

Does anybody know if our stereo will accept/recognize 32GB SDHC card?

from what I've read on a couple different forums:

SDHC is supported on 2010 A4's.
In 2009's only SD cards were supported (not SDHC) however;

if a 2009 model, your car may be eligible for a MMI upgrade which would enable SDHC support.

Do you have nav?

It's more complicated than that -- it depends on the hardware version and software version from what i know. I know my Feb '09 build date Prem+ w/o Nav -- thus symphony -- with SW 301 will accept SDHC cards.

Search here and/or Audizine and you should be able to find the full story.

Unfortunately, those with software 2.01 (and hw02) can not find an upgrade cd for the firmware cd on the Symphony.

Any dealer service techs reading this care to release v 3.01 out into the "wild" along with the original image of v 2.01?

No nav, just a regular Audi stereo. What confused me is the manual, it states that the slot can accept up to 32GB SD card. Correct me if I am wrong but I have never seen a 32GB "SD" card as far as I understand the "HC" stands for "high capacity" and every card which is 16GB and up is considered to be a high capacity.

I am not sure what my build date is but as far as I remember it was one of the last 09's that were built (per dealer). Anyway I just bought a 16GB SDHC card on Ebay and will report back as soon as I get it and test it.

By the way how do you check for a built date?

The build date is written at the bottom of the B pillar on the drivers side.

You can also check the version of the MMI to see if you have version 3.01. I think the version is written somewhere in the car menu.

I did not have much time this morning to look for a software version but I did look at the b-pillar, my built date is 05/2009, does this mean that I have a 3.01 version?

You would have to check the MMI to be sure, but that's a fairly late '09 build date -- chances are good, IMO. My Early Feb build has 3.01 (the car was at the dealer late Feb and the B-pillar has 2/09 as the build date, so I think it had to be early Feb).
