How do you remove the silver plastic trim next to the instrument cluster?

I don't like that silver plastic trim, I want to change it to black and I'll probably either buy a new CF piece or wrap it with 3M DI-NOC. How do I remove these two pieces of trim without damaging anything? Has anyone here done it?

This was the first thing that i did to my b8.Got rid of the awful silver trim, and had it sprayed matt black.Ive done another with an aerosol can and the results were the same.But you must prise off the mmi housing and air vent before painting.Removal is started by using a nylon spatchula to gently lever the 'prongs' nearest the dials, as they have a rubber ball and socket fitting.onece they are released its held by spring clips.
