Default Performance chipping V6 diesel

Anybody chipped or re-mapped their diesel?
Better performance?
Better economy?
Better or worse engine characteristics?
Any service or reliability issues?
Is the Steinbauer unit worth paying extra for compared to, say, a Superchips version?
Are most chips just a rail pressure raising device or do they actually re-map the engine data in some way?

Questions gallore! They need answering before I spend hard earned money on a chip or re-map though.

However, it answers none of my questions and provides the performance enhancement that is almost identical to that claimed by Steinbauer for about 50% more cost. The Steinbauer is a plug-in though, while I understand that this is a modified or re-mapped exchange Motronic computer. The Steinbauer itself is nearly twice the price of some devices, so the enhancement above better had some unique selling point that gives a very distinct advantage compared to competitors. What is or are those advantages?

Having done more research on the UK price, then assuming that the UK agent fits and tests in the quoted price, then it is competitive with Steinbauer. The UK agent's site is rather more conservative with hp and torque claims than the tuning house site.
