Default Finally finished!

After six months of work, my A6 is finally close to where I want it. The car is riding on Bagyard airride struts, which are Bilstein struts with integrated air bags in place of springs. The ride is BETTER than my stock suspension ever was. Oh, and it's fully height adjustable by switch or auto rideheight control. I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve- as well as some tutorials I'm going to post here, so keep an eye out.

-Mike

2006 A6 4.2
Oyster Grey Metallic
Amaretto Volterra Sport Leather
Tech/Cold weather/Advanced Key/Wood wheel & shift ****
Bagyard AirRide struts
Fab-Lab Pressuryte auto rideheight control
20x9" ET 40 MRR HR4 Wheels
S6 Bumper & Grille w/ LEDs and painted markers

Next:

Wrap the 7 Gallon trunk-mounted air tank in Amaretto leather.
Debadge
S6 or S-Line rear valence
European trunk
Dension Gateway 500

A special thanks goes to Jazznuts for his S6 parts list and help!

Went out on my dinner break last night for a quick photoshoot.

Some GIFs showing the full range of the suspension. *Note, we adjusted the rear camber yesterday to get the rear 3/4" lower. These images were taken beforehand.

Wow that last post is really kool. A few of those shots really look awesome. I'll admit the car looks alot better when the wheels aren't hidden all the way in the wheel well, but the adjustable height is just bananas.

You've got skills man. Love the Flikr album. You take stock photos for a living or just a hobby? Oh yeah, your car is sick too!

+1 on not liking the look when the wheels are stuffed up into the wheel well.

It looks... like your axels broke.

Can you even drive it like that?

And why would you?

In fact, I'm not a fan of 20" wheels on A6 in general... they look out of proportion to me.. a little comical.

But, hey, that's my preference. I'm sure there are plenty that dig that look.

Beautiful photography though.... very nicely done.

The suspension is infinitely adjustable and I raise the car when I drive so the wheels aren't tucking. I can drive it all the way down like that, but to risk shelling out $1200 for a new upper and lower oilpan would be rather foolish. Broken axles wouldn't affect rideheight, so your comparison there is incorrect.

The wheel hidding is not my thing... but the wheels itself are nice.
