Default C6 - Adjusting Rain Sensor Correction Value

The rain sensor in my 05 A6 is too sensitive. At the highest setting, it still wipes too often for me. I want to adjust the base sensitivity in to a range so that I fine tune with the control on the wiper control arm.

The Ross Tech Wiki on this subject explains it all very well - except for one point. Which direction (higher or lower) do I move the sensor correction value to make the sensor less sensitive? My sensor correction value is currently 62% and I'm thinking that I want to increase that number to make it less sensitive, but I thought I would check here first.

Thx

huh? flick the tab down to decrease sensitivity.

thanks for the link though, I had seen this before but forgot where. useful for those of us that have our windshields replaced.

I guess I didn't do a good job of explaining the problem. Even when I flick the tab all the way down to decrease the sensitivity, it is still to sensitive. The rain sensor base sensitivity can be adjusted via VAG and then "fine tuned' using the tab. I need to make the base value less sensitive so that I can use the tab. Right now, the value stored in "the computer" (I don't know exactly what part - comfort module, dashboard module, whatever...) makes the sensor so sensitive that I have the tab all the way down, all the time.

I'm hoping that someone knows which way to adjust the base value (up or down) to make the sensor less sensitive. That would allow me to get the tab off the least sensitive position and give me some flexibility to actually adjust the sensitivity based on conditions.

Thx

Unfortunately, what we know about this is already documented. Thus my suggestion is to make the determination empirically. A garden hose might be useful. ;-)
