Mine was also like you described. I think that is where the aftermarket subframe stiffener would hook in. I didnt put an insert in when I installed the bar and havent had a problem. Tim @ NEA said it would be fine as long as grade 8 bolts were properly torqued. Has lack of this bolt caused any problems for anyone?
