Replaced A4 Avant rear wiper assembly with Q5 parts.
Today I replaced the original equipment rear wiper assembly on my 2008 A4 Avant with similar parts from a 2009 Q5. It fits perfectly and actually wipes and cleans the glass, as opposed to running a few pressure point tracks. The original parts don't work well at all; these work like the uniblade wipers on the windshield.
For those who would like to do the same procedure, here are the part numbers:
Wiper Arm: 8R0-955-407-1P9
Wiper Blade: 8R0-955-425
Cap: 8K9-955-205
You just gently pull up and remove the center cap, remove the washer fluid nozzle, unscrew the nut holding down the wiper arm and pull off. Reverse to install.

Just bumping up an old thread for some more info.
I am also very frustrated as to the poor rear wiper performance on these Avants, so sick of the salty rainbow rear window lack-of visibility. I was searching around for some possible solutions when I discovered this old thread.
This mod looks very promising, any further feedback as to how it has held up over time??
Once you got the new parts home, did you need to replace the cap as well or is the cap between A4 and Q5 arms similar enough to be reused?
Thanks--

just used the new, seemed differnt shape. The replacement bade seems a little shorter, however wipe area is good, and seems like better contact with glass. I work at Por/Audi dealership and at emp cost all parts came to like 53 bucks- Jamie

Just a quick follow up for those who might find this post by search engine later on.
The installed new wiper blade is indeed about 1/2-3/4" shorter on the inside arc, leaving only a very small amount of less wiped area at the bottom of the rear window vs the original wiper set up. The outside arc of the wiped area or top of the window is identical. This issue is almost not worth pointing out it is so small.
The new cap is nearly the same as the old, but the curves are different where the cap and the wiper arm bend together. If someone wanted to spend a little time with a dremel matching the curves just right you could save $6 off this conversion, but at that cost why bother to waste the time?
The total cost from Genuine Audi Parts was under $57 to get the three parts listed above shipped from Cali to the Midwest.
Best part- no more dirty rainbow smear on the back window. Love it.
