Check out the other forums is you like kawf PM me if you want
As to dlps it is just the amount of people who want a thin flat wall mountable tv I have avoided dlps because of the mechanical color wheels - and my lack of faith in the reliability of them. But I love rear projection tvs. If cost is a issue look in your local Craigs list for used Sony SXRDs

If you don't mind the thickness, and the narrower viewing angle, DLP's can be a great choice. I was determined to by an LCD last year, but when I saw a 61" Samsung DLP with a BluRay movie on, I bought it. I have it in a corner, so it's hard to tell that it's 15" thick, and when you are seated directly in front of it with a HD program or BluRay movie on, it is amazing. The newer Samsungs (I have the A750 series) have an LED engine, not a color wheel, so they don't have to be replaced like the traditional DLP's, and the expected lifetime is as long as an LCD or plasma. I hope this helps, good luck with your purchase decision. Steve
