Myself and the ACNA AZ chapter president sat down earlier this week to hash out some ideas about an event to get everyone together before it gets too hot outside. We have come up with (as this is tentative with more possible vendor participants to be announced) the concept to have an Audi show -n-shine event at the Scottsdale 101 Auto Complex on the small test drive track located directly behind the Audi N. Scottsdale dealership. The complex has had events here in the past and it’s a good location we can use just for the Audi Club, without having to gain overwhelming property use approvals etc.
We have slated the date of Saturday May 2nd from NOON to 4pm. We figure this gives everyone from outside of the Phoenix area (Tucson, Prescott, Flagstaff etc..) to not have to wake up very early and get here. We also are going to look into reserving the car club row at the Pavillion’s car show at the Indian Bend/101 intersection for later that evening. (This event takes place each and every Saturday afternoon until about 10pm at night and draws all kinds of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.) Our show ‘n shine event will be strictly for ACNA members/Audi owners and their families. The only exception being if you know an Audi owner and they want to attend the event with their car and they intend to join ACNA. We will have ACNA sign up forms available upon arrival for those in that particular category. Serveral event ideas are being looked into including displays by local tuning shops, as well as some Audi of America corporate help to make this a fun event for everyone. We also plan to have a show-n-shine competition to be judged by ACNA members and their families with some prizes for the voted winners Look for more info to be anounced as plans become more solidified. To obtain the latest information on the event, look to the ACNA AZ chapter website www.audiclubaz.org. We should know more in next week or so. The club is open to additional input for this event, ,so if you have any ideas please reply with your suggestions and if you plan to attend. We look forward to eveyone's attendance and participation.
