Default Chapter Rep "What the....?" of the day

Today, at just after 5 pm, EST, our chapter president got an email from national stating that there's a chapter rep meeting tonight at 9pm.

Gee, thanks for the warning guys.

Perhaps not coincidentally, two ACNA Bod meeting minutes were posted to the ACNA website some time today.

I guess this is their way of saying either "Oh, sorry you couldn't make the call" or "You didn't see the minutes? Well, you shoulda checked the website."

But honestly, that's just sour grapes talking.

But wait, it gets better! I got my name included in those minutes. The January 28, 2009 minutes include an action item to have Karen Chadwick contact me, Jonathan Porath, and forward the complaint resolution policy and request that I follow that procedure.

So, it's been a month. I haven't heard from Ms. Chadwick. I guess I'm not so important after all. Either that or some actions take longer than others.

Again, this is all sour grapes. Minutiae of little or no importance.

The really important thing is that when I filed my complaint against Mr. Earley, there was no complaint resolution policy in place. It had not even been conceived of as yet. It wasn't until months later that Mr. Earley drafted the complaint procedure policy and the board approved it. Oh, and the complaint procedure policy essentially states that the ACNA Bod doesn't want to get involved in such complaints so keep it to a chapter level.

Let's just look at this. They expect me to follow a procedure that did not exist at the time of the complaint and was created by the very person that the complaint was filed against and the procedure ensures that they do not have to do anything about the complaint.

Yeah.

I like that.

Conflict of interest? Check. Abuse of office? Check. Complete disregard of duties? Check. Disregard of the Code of Ethics. Check.

Machiavelli would be proud.

Color me impressed, Mr. Earley. Well played.

Of course, much of this is merely my opinion, colored by anger and dismay at the performance of the BoD. So everybody should read into it what they will and not take my word, nor anybody else's, as being completely factual.

Default I was only able to catch the last 10 min of the call...

I understand there was some interesting discussion. I also understand that someone in authority was tasked with taking and publishing meeting notes. I have faith that they will be published on the web, or at least distributed to the Chapter Presidents shortly. Given the admission of the fact that a mistake was made with regard to the scheduling of the meeting, I would think that in the interest of professionalism the BOD / ED will do their best ensure prompt recap / communication.

On the off chance that there is a delay in that communication, I was hoping maybe you took notes?

While I'm thinking about timely publication of things - Is it an unreasonable request that ACNA BOD and ED define and implement some basic structure to this one? I don't want to go all Management 101 on you guys but gee whiz..... Are things that hectic at the National office that we can't find time to do basic administrative tasks? Can anyone from the BOD or National office comment?

Default Meeting notes? Yeah, we got those.

Since I can't speak during the meeting, I took the opportunity to write. I should have them written up and posted here, as well as on acnasupport.com, later today.
