Default Im not a FAL guy by any means,

For all their Hype, the FALs few instances in warfare were less than terrific. They did have problems with FTF in automatic fire. For the Israelis they were prone to sand and dirt fouling. But, at least this particular FAL may have seen some action in its former life.

From wiki
"The Israeli FAL first saw action in relatively small quantities during the Suez Crisis of 1956, and by the Six-Day War in June 1967, it was the standard Israeli rifle. During the Yom Kippur War of October 1973 it was still in front-line service as the standard Israeli rifle, though increasing criticism eventually led to the phaseout of the weapon. Israeli forces were primarily mechanized in nature; the long, heavy FAL slowed deployment drills, and proved exceedingly difficult to maneuver within the confines of a vehicle.[4][5] Additionally, Israeli forces experienced repeated jamming of the FAL due to heavy sand, dust, and silt ingress endemic to Middle Eastern deserts, requiring repeated field-stripping and cleaning of the rifle, sometimes while under fire,[5] though the reasons for the reputed performance issues are still debated. During the later stages of the Yom Kippur War, it was noted that some Israeli soldiers had informally exchanged their FALs for Soviet Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifles taken from dead and captured Arab soldiers. Though the IDF evaluated a few modified FAL rifles with 'sand clearance' slots in the bolt carrier and receiver, malfunction rates did not significantly improve.[6] The Israeli FAL was eventually replaced by the M16 and the Galil (a weapon patterned after the Soviet Kalashnikov AKM, and chambered in either 5.56x45 or 7.62 NATO),[7][6] though the FAL remained in production in Israel until at least 1981"

Default Some pictures of my ARM'd out Golani Rifle.

ARM Gas block,
Flash hider,
Bipod,
ARM pistol grip (black instead of grey)
ARM carrying handle
IDF sling and mag case.

I picked up my Golani back when I traded in that Defunkt Bren Mk2. They gave me store credit so I kinda ran out of stuff to buy. After putting the ARM kit on it, Its one my favorite rifles.

Default the ARM gas block is what is becoming hard to find.

but that whole rig is about 1250 bucks.

thats for a whole ARM parts kit which was basically a whole gun minus the receiver.

I carried a Saudi FAL in 1978 and 1979 in KSA. Handled a few Israelis around the same time.

Visit the FAL Files forum for definitive information on that rifle. I've been there a time or two.
