Default They're good for keeping kids out of your guns but not secure enough to...

defend against a prybar or large screwdriver (from what I've heard).

Default I have a cheap *** DAC one I got from Wal Mart that I keep 2 pistols in

I'm going to get a GunVault and move the DAC one to my wifes side for her revolver.

It's used exclusively for quick access to a gun, not for protection of assets.

Prior to having a kid, I get it in my night stand drawer, but now I need to keep my child from shooting herself or someone else, so it's in a mini safe. A gun lock is not a good option for a pistol you plan to use for home protection. Needs to be something you can get to instantly, and it doesn't get much more instant.

GunVault is the best one for this kind of mini safe as far as I know.
