Default Holding strong to the New Years resolution so far, but was tempted tonight.

Went to the range and a very sexy Sig 1911 kept calling me. Really fired up my "Buy-Something" juices. Resisted but the feeling wouldn't go away so I bought a 1,000 rounds of 5.56x45 online when I got home. Ahhh, much better and I maintained my integrity.

Default the first gen sig 1911s were bad... they're in their 3rd or 4th iteration already. Minor changes to

improve tooling, fit, reliability. They're better than the first 1911s that they released.

Default The ONLY thing I'm patriotic about... I don't buy foriegn 1911s.

I want it handmade by some mexican right here in the good 'ol usa dammit!

There's nothing wrong with a Sig 1911 now... they even make a couple that are drop dead gorgeous but for that money I always have to turn my head back over to the semi customs by Baer or Brown. Brown Baer? Now that's a company just waiting to be awesome.

Default A pic of the one I keep looking at but it doesn't really do it justice.

I don't even like wood grips on a 1911 but in person it's so yummy.

Default I don't know...The .45 I built for my dad is pretty damn reliable...

I built a .45 for bowling pin comps out at MR&P, from an old Agentine AF Balester-Molina. The slide/frame fit was surprisingly tight for an issue side arm, so I went ahead and did a custom job to it (beveled mag well, skeleton hammer, comp barrel w/match bushing, one piece guide rod, Wolf match spring, match trigger, etc, etc,). It turned out to be a real shooter and is smooth as silk. And if I ever decide to take it from him and have it finished in something like Black-T or Ceracoat, it would look just as nice as any custom gun out there. It's a slick little gun for less than $700.
