Default B8 fitment of older wheels question for the wheel experts

When I trade my 2001 A6 2.7t for my B8 A4 with 18" Prestige pkg wheels , I will have 17" O.Z. wheel takeoffs from my A6 that are 17x8", 5x112 bolt pattern, 35mm offset. I'd like to use the these for winter use if possible.

I checked tire sizes and the current tires on the A6 17" 234/45-17 are within 1.5% circumference of the new 245/40-18's so tire size shouldn't be a big issue. I believe the new A4 wheels use the same 5x112 bolt pattern.

What I don't know is if the wheels will not fit due to different offset and/or a hub size difference.

Did some searching and the only thing I found was mention of a different hub size. Does anyone know the offset of the new A4 or if some other factor like a new hub size will put me out of luck?

Default You should be most concerned with the center bore...

Bolt pattern is the same, offset is similar and will still work with your wheels, but the center bore went from 57.1mm to 66.56mm so unless your OZ wheels have a hub ring system similar to BBS where different applications use different hub rings, you're SOL.

Default Yeah I posted on this already, won't fit

The hubs are different on the B8 chassis cars. I was told at the S5 launch that all old wheels will not fit the new chassis.

Default You'll want less of an offset as well. 35mm ET will have more of a tucked look.

Width etc being similar, you'll want a 25-30 ET to fill the fenders better. On the S5, the offset is about 20mm too far in for what I prefer.

Not even with hub rings as suggested above?

Are BBS center bore 66.56mm by default?

Default Hub rings make the hole smaller...if your OZs don't have them, you are SOL.

If they do, take them out and measure.

Default OZ wheels from Tire Rack do come with hubcentric rings for Audi fitment, but...

...I ahve no idea what the raw centerbore for the OZ wheel is.

I am looking at a B8 A4 in a few years, and my Volk wheels have a centerbore larger than the B8 hub, so I am very happy!!!

Default Just spoke to Tirerack..

The OZ wheels I have on the A6 have same bolt pattern and the hub size is 75mm bore ringed down to 57.1mm. He told me they carry rings at $5 ea that go from 75mm down to 66.5mm.

The only thing we are not positive about is the offset on the new A4? If too much different either way, I'll be SOL like you said. Anyone sure about the offset on the B8 A4? It could be different than the 2008 A5 (he told me 35mm offset is what they spec for the A5). Puzzling based on what Quattrings said in his post above about his S5.

Default According to Tirerack, the A5 is spec'd at 35mm offset..

Does your S5 have a different offset than the A5? If it's the same, with an 8" width wheel I'm puzzled why it would be too tucked in.
Also, it's possible the A4 B8 might carry a different offset than the A5 or S5. Possible?
